Welcome to our website!

Our teaching language is mainly Norwegian, but we welcome foreign students as well . You must, however be motivated to learn norwegian and do language training continously. Norwegian is offered as an elective course for non-Norwegian speakers.

The major courses you can choose between at Sogndal folkehøgskule are Sports, Photographic art, Nature Photography, Outdoor Life (wide variety of activities), Skiing and Climbing. Electives vary a little from year to year. We are currently offering philosophy, arts such as painting and graphics, various forms of needlework, woodwork, guitar/band, astronomy, Telemark (skiing), cooking, outdoor life, volleyball, basket ball, choir, photography, first-aid and more.

Some of the subjects are common subjects, for example singing/music, lectures on different topics, physical education, International week, and more.

We start enrolling students for the academic year 2009-10 in February but you are welcome to apply before this date. The schoolyear starts in late August, and ends medio May 2010. To ensure enrolment on the course you want, send in your application promptly.
